Lauren Braney is from Fredericksburg, Virginia and is currently teaching high school studio art at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts at Colgan High School in Manassas, VA. She fell in love with clay in high school when she threw for the first time and continued her love affair with clay through college. Lauren picked up throwing again in Spring 2017 when she got her first wheel. She now teaches high school students how to throw in hopes that they will fall in love with the media as well. Currently, she throws pottery out of her home in any spare time she can find. When Lauren isn’t covered in clay you can almost always find her outside with her dog enjoying the nature that surrounds us. Lauren earned her M.Ed. with a focus in Visual Arts from the University of Mary Washington in 2016 and her B.A. in Studio Art also from the University of Mary Washington in 2015.
